Karen has been in a facility management roll for the past 7 years, working in such disciplines as manufacturing, engineering, religious facilities and most recently insurance. She has a passion for the inner workings of building structures and more importantly a heart for serving the people who work within them.
Karen's background is in Materials Management, earning her certification in Purchasing through the University of Calgary and the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC). She is in her third year of service to the Calgary Chapter of IFMA board as the Education Director and now the Vice President. She is also a member of the Calgary Association of Office Service Administrators (CAOSA), is a current Commissioner for Oaths in Alberta and has earned her Associates degree in Biblical Studies. Currently, Karen is pursuing both her Facilities Management Professional (FMP) and Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designations which she hopes to have by the end of 2010.

Dan Lindsay has been in Building Service Contracting industry in Calgary for a near decade. It was over the last year that Dan was exposed to the IFMA culture while he was consulting for an international firm. After attending the 2009 IFMA council’s conference in Vancouver, Dan knew he had to be a part of the growing IFMA Calgary Chapter. Dan initiated a meeting with IFMA Calgary and successfully passed the screening process and was appointed the Treasurer on the IFMA Calgary Executive Board in 2009. Dan excels in the custodial aspect of the Facility Management profession. He also volunteers his time with BOMA and many local charities.

Tiffany Schwartz holds a diploma in Interior Design and has been in the commercial furnishings industry for the last 6 years. She has experience working as a design specifier as well as acting as a Territory Representative for a major Canadian furniture manufacturer. Currently, Tiffany holds a Sales and Marketing role which requires her to handle everything from client meetings, site meetings through project managing full installations of commercial workspaces. Tiffany is interested in the business aspect of Facility Management and is working towards obtaining her CFM designation.

After graduating from Olds College with a diploma in horticulture, David held a range of positions in the tropical plants division of an international company. His most recent before leaving the industry was as Vice President and General Manager - Prairie Region. He then moved into the world of office furnishings as a sales consultant with a local dealer and is now the Sales Manager with a Kelowna based company, Heartwood Manufacturing Ltd.
he has been on the Board with various associations over the years, including CAOSA. In 2007, David joined the Calgary Chapter of IFMA and immediately involved himself on our Board as Events Director. Why?
It's one thing to have association membership. It is another to be involved." David says. "it;s been a great way to force me out of my shell and to network with other members. That's where the learning is. I wanted to educate myself and gain a greater understanding of facilities management, and what the people I interact with on a day to day basis are dealing with."
Born and raised in a farming community in southern Alberta, David calls Calgary his home. " I have been here for over 24 years now and absolutley love it." When he first arrived her got involved with hot air ballooning. He now enjoys the arts, particularly live theatre, and hiking. Recently he took up running and has run two half marathons.
