On behalf of the IFMA Calgary Chapter Board of Directors I would like to wish all of our members a happy New Year and a prosperous 2010!

I am pleased to report to you that our IFMA Calgary Chapter membership remains strong and we are financially healthy. As the economy returns to the positive we are set to embark on an exciting, informative, and fun year of activities for the FM community. My message to the membership is this: Get involved in FM in 2010.

We are starting the New Year (and new decade!) with some new communication tools that will help you get involved: a new Membership Directory and a newly designed Website.

By now, all members should have received their 2010 Membership Directory in the mail. This Directory is an important tool that can be used to connect yourself to the Facility Management community and I encourage you to spend some time reading through it and taking this opportunity to re-connect with fellow FM professionals and friends. Perhaps you might consider making a new resolution to be more involved with your FM network, to meet new FM associates, and to share your experience and commitment to the FM profession this year. It all starts with an action by you when you open the Directory. Reconnect yourself to IFMA in 2010!

Please also note the increased support that IFMA Calgary has received from Corporate Sponsors in 2010. These companies are investing in your FM profession. I ask you to consider supporting those Sponsors in your business activities.

As you can see, we have also launched our new Chapter website. It features our new Sponsors as well as our Strategic Plan and Balanced Scorecard. Watch for a list of events for this coming year to arrive in your inbox and be sure to visit the website for current updates and news at www.ifmacalgary.org.

We had a great year in 2009 and enjoyed some fantastic tours, informative educational seminars, our annual golf tournament and most recently our Annual Silent Auction and Fun Night.  Thank you to those members and friends of the Chapter for continuing to show your support by making a donation and/or joining us. The Program and Educational chairs continue to work hard at planning events that will suit both your professional and personal needs.

We continue to look for FM professional members to join the Board of Directors to fill vacancies and to add strength for future succession planning. This is your professional association and you are needed this year to keep IFMA Calgary strong.
