IFMA CALGARY HOLIDAY LUNCHEON

Join IFMA Calgary Chapter on Thursday, December 18, 2008 for our Annual Holiday Luncheon Event.  This year's event will feature guest speaker, Georgi-Anna Sizeland of Calgary Downtown Association.

As one of the founding principals of the largest solely Interior Design firm in Western Canada, Georgi-Anna Sizeland, of award winning Sizeland Evans Interior Design Inc., has the experience and expertise that only comes from over twenty-eight years of practice in the Interior Design industry. With an eye for detail and an ear for understanding, her creativity and commitment to sustainability are apparent in the many spaces of Sizeland Evans Interior Design Inc.

Georgi-Anna is an active volunteer in the Interior Design industry and was appointed as the Chairman of the Calgary Downtown Association in 2007 . With firsthand familiarity in corporate mergers and acquisitions in the active Calgary market, this new role is an opportunity for her to take her knowledge and help paint a new face for the booming Calgary core.

Georgi will be discussing the significant role of the Calgary Downtown Association along with some of its initiatives for 2009.

Calgary Downtown Association is a Business Revitalization Zone established under the Alberta’s Municipal Government Act that represents 3,500 businesses in a 120-block area in the centre of the city. This area comprises over 50 million square feet of office, hotel, retail, restaurant, entertainment, attractions, cultural and government buildings. It was formed as a result of a petition by Downtown businesses in November 1988 and is funded primarily by a levy on the business taxes paid by Downtown businesses.

The Metropolitan Conference Centre is located on the south side of 4th Avenue SW between 2nd and 3rd Streets. The Royal Room is on the +15 level from the SE corner of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street (Barclay) SW, and upstairs on the right from the main entrance on 4th Avenue.

Parking by IM Park is available on 4th Avenue next to the Metropolitan Centre and across the street at the Westin. There are outdoor lots on 3rd Avenue.
